Summertime means burgers, but sometimes our appetite isn’t always there. These mouthwatering burgers are perfect for those quick meals. If you have a Blackstone grill these are really easy to make! If not you can always use a Stanbroil Full Size Griddle for smokers and conventional grills. After making these once or twice these will become a staple meal during those grilling months!
Yields: 8 sliders
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
Salt & black pepper (to taste)
8 slider buns (potato rolls or Hawaiian rolls work great)
8 slices American cheese
Dill pickle chips (optional but classic)
Yellow mustard (or your favorite sauce)
Butter for toasting buns
Finely chopped onions (optional, for a classic diner touch)
Instructions:
- Divide & Roll:
Roll the ground beef into 8 equal-sized balls (about 2 oz each). Keep them chilled until ready to grill. - Preheat Grill:
Place a flat cast iron griddle or heavy skillet on your grill. Heat until smoking hot (you want that sear). - Smash Time:
Place 2–3 beef balls on the hot surface. Immediately press each one flat with a spatula or grill press (smash until ~½ inch thick).
Tip: Use parchment paper between the beef and spatula to prevent sticking. - Season & Sizzle:
Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Let them cook for about 2 minutes until edges are crispy and brown. - Flip & Melt:
Flip burgers, add cheese slices, and let cook another minute until cheese melts. - Toast the Buns:
Lightly butter buns and toast them on the grill until golden brown. - Build Your Sliders:
Place each patty on a bun, top with pickles, a squeeze of mustard, and chopped onions if desired.
Pro Tips:
- Serve them on a tray with fries or chips (we prefer Crinkle Cut) for that backyard cookout vibe.
- Want a sauce upgrade? Try mixing mayo, ketchup, a little relish, and smoked paprika for a quick burger sauce. Or grill some chopped jalapeños for a bit more spice and throw them on the burger!
