Fall is around the corner and there are certain sandwiches that hit the spot. As the orchards start opening for apple season, it time to go to an age old classic to put a smile on faces young and old, and fill the belly. Enter our amazing take on a ham and cheese sandwich.
A few key things to point out is fresh ingredients make this sandwich stand out among the others.
Ingredients:
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard (Gives that nice kick)
4 Thick slices (1/2-inch) of Sourdough Bread (or desired bread)
4-6 oz Thinly sliced Black Forrest Ham (About 8-10 Slices)
4-6 oz of Brie Cheese sliced
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
Instructions:
Evenly layer the ham, brie and apple slices on top of one piece of bread. Spend a layer of Dijon Mustard on the other piece and place it on top. Brush the top and bottom of the sandwich with the olive oil.
Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Grill the sandwich, turning halfway though. Look for that golden brown coloring of the bread. The entire cook time should not go over 6-8 minutes.
Throw a touch of garnish and serve with chips or your favorite side.
Enjoy!
